School History
Kure Chuo Kindergarten was first opened in 1927 in Kuramoto Dori, Kure City; however, the building was destroyed in WWII 1945. Three years later in 1948, the kindergarten relocated to Hiromachi, Kure City and started its operation again. In 2017, it celebrates its 70th anniversary.

In 1986, Michiko Yamasaki is chosen Director of the kindergarten.
In 1992, she visits South Side Elementary School in Arkansas, USA to introduce Japanese culture to the children. Interaction with the American children inspired her the importance of the use of speaking English. Ever since, she has included English in the kindergarten's curriculum.
